Answer: We use special acrylic colorants with a sealer process to maintain the sand's color for
the lifetime of your tank or property. There is about a 2% fade over 7 years in the natural sunlight
out doors and no fading if indoors.

17-Question. Why do some of the particles from my Aqua Terra® dry sand float when I wash or pour it in the aquarium? |
Answer: The sand is extremely dry, and sometimes may have fine particles that simply need to soak in the aquarium water before it sinks to the bottom of your tank. Allow for a period of time for the particles to become saturated, and then they will sink to the bottom of the aquarium.
